Scuba diving, freediving, spearfishing, and lobstering are inherently dangerous sports that require proper training and certification, ongoing familiarization and maintenance of gear and equipment, good physical and mental health and decision-making capabilities, and constant monitoring of the environment and ever-changing situations and conditions as well as many other factors. Divers are, at all times, solely responsible for their own personal safety, health, and well-being. While efforts are made to reduce the risks associated with these sports, unforeseen events and accidents do occur and are at the Diver’s own sole individual risk. Risks include, but are not limited to decompression sickness, the bends, air embolisms, lung expansion injuries, gear failures, out-of-air emergencies, entanglement, hypothermia, boat-related issues, propeller injuries, drowning, oxygen toxicity, nitrogen narcosis, human error, marine wildlife injuries and attacks, shark attacks, and many more. Divers are encouraged to obtain a Divers Alert Network Membership with Dive Insurance as well as maintain their own physical and mental conditioning and health insurance. Boaters are encouraged to maintain on-water towing services such as BoatUS, SeaTow, etc. No warranties or guarantees of any kind are either expressed or implied. The Dive Buddy, Divemaster, Captain, and/or Charter are NOT responsible for any resulting injuries, accidents, or losses of any kind before, during, or after the dive and/or trip.
